    limit arctan

    what's the limit of arctan(x) as x tends to infinity.

    Please help.

    The function \tan^{-1} x is not 'single value' ... but if You intend the branch of the function for which is \tan^{-1} 0 = 0 the is...

    \lim_{x \rightarrow \infty} \tan^{-1} x = \frac{\pi}{2} (1)
