    Maximal domain

    maximal domain of 1/(16-x^2)

    how do i figure it out?? thanks

    16-x^2 \ne 0

    domain is x \in \mathbb{R} , x \ne \pm 4

    I'm not familiar with "maximal" domain.

    I would assume it means "largest possible domain" which is exactly what you gave.
