    Maths function questions

    (Q1) given the following information:
    x=1,y=3
    x=2,y=6
    x=3,y=2
    x=4,y=7
    x=5,y=3
    the function g(x) is defined by g(x)=5f(x+2). Calculate g(3), writing your answer as an interger.

    (Q2)
    if f(x) is equal to:
    x=1,y=4
    x=2,y=5
    x=3,y=3
    x=4,y=2
    x=5,y=1
    and g(x) is equal to:
    x=1,y=3
    x=2,y=5
    x=3,y=1
    x=4,y=4
    x=5,y=2
    calculate f(g(1)), writing your answer as an intergral

    thankyou explanations would be helpful!

    Hello,

    Concerning Q1, and assuming the first 5 couples given correspond to the function f, we have: g(x)=5f(x+2), hence g(3)=5f(3+2) = 5f(5) = 5\times 3 = 15 because at x=5, y=3

    Concerning Q2, f(g(1))=f(3)=3. Remember that we are given g(1)=3 and f(3)=3

    Hope this helps
