$\displaystyle sin^2t-4sint+1=0$ Ok I know your suppose to subsitute it for x or u, but I cant seem to be able to solve that quadratic

Are you saying that you cannot solve $\displaystyle x^{2}-4x+1 = 0$? Are you sure you want to stay with that opinion? Give it one more try before you give up.
You can't factor it with integer coefficients. Complete the square or use the quadratic formula.
