    x & y intercept

    1. Find the y-intercept.
    x + 2y = 2

    2. Write the equation of the line with x-intercept (6, 0) and undefined slope.

    3. A roof rises 9.5 ft over a horizontal distance of 14.72 ft. What is the slope of the roof to the nearest hundredth?

    1.) y = mx + b:

    2y = 2 + x

    y = 1 + (1/2)*x

    Or, y = (1/2)*x + 1; you should be able to figure this out now.

    2.) The slope is underfined when the line is vertical:

    x = -6

    3.) Hint: slope is change in y over the change in x

    Rise over run. Draw a picture.
