This cannot be factored with integer coefficients but can, as dMh said, be factored by first solving the equation $\displaystyle 6x^2+ 16x+ 4= 0$ and using the "factor theorem": If, for polynomial p(x), p(a)= 0, then (x- a) is a factor of p(x).
