# Math Help - basic math question

1. ## basic math question

What is the sin225 degrees + tan45 degrees?

What I did was:
sin(180+45) which would be 0 and the square root of 2/2 respectively.
Then the tan of 45 is 1...

When I tried to solve for it I got squareroot of 2/2 + 1. This was not given as any of the four answer choices so I suppose it is wrong... what is the answer?

sin(225) is a negative value...so how would you correct your answer?

3. Alright.. So would this mean that the answer is negative square root of 2 + 1?

$1-\frac{\sqrt{2}}{2}$ is correct (I put it in a different form, but its the same thing).
