    finding vector

    find a vector v whose magnitude is 3 and whose component in the i direction is equal to the component in the j direction

    you want a vector \left< x,x \right> such that \| \left< x,x \right> \| = 3

    That is, \sqrt{x^2 + x^2} = 3

    Now solve for x and you can find your vector.
