# Math Help - Graph problem

1. ## Graph problem

I am asked to draw the graph of the linear function f(x)=3x-1. Can someone explain how I would go about doing this? Thanks so much.

MathFailure here are the steps to solve this problem

1. First draw a horizontal line at y=-1
2. Secondly go across 1 space and up 3; since 3x is really $\frac{3x}{1}$

I attached some links with some steps to give you a visual perspective

Thanks so much! Why can't you be my math teacher? ha.. I swear the guy I have for a teacher makes every math problem seem like it's the equation for world peace: I get so intimidated that I just block him out.. Thanks again!!!
