# Thread: Graph of Inverse Sketching

1. ## Graph of Inverse Sketching

I need to sketch the graph of the inverse of: $f(x)=x^3+4$

I am given the graph of the above . . . The inverse that I got was $f^-1(x)= cube root x-4$

I apologize for not knowing how to make the cuberoot sign on here. I am not looking for an answer but how to solve it with only the picture of the graph of the original problem.

From the example problems it seems as if I am supposed to draw a diagonal line through the first and 3rd quadrants and mirror the graph?

1. Draw the line y = x

3. Click on the equation to see how to write the nth roots:

$f^{-1}(x)=\sqrt[3]{x-4}$

3. Thank you for your quick response!

Also, is there somewhere to find all the symbols/abbreviations that are used to type the math problems correctly?
