A function is even, iff it has symettry in the x-axis. Algebraically it means f(-x)=f(x).

A function is odd, iff it has point symetrry in the origin. Meaning if you find the reflection in the x-axis and then the y-axis you get the same thing. Or the reflection in the y-axis and then x-axis.
    Algebraically it means f(-x)=-f(x)
