(3x) / (x^2 + 2)
Since x^2 + 2 has no real solution there is no vertical asymptote. There is however a horizontal asymptote. (And this curve is one of my favourite examples to show students who very wrongly believe that a curve can never cross an asymptote. Vertical asymptotes can never be crossed or touched. However, it's a different story for horizontal asymptotes ....)
