Y=1/2tan(pi(x)-pi)

this is what I got for the interval and the period, but I have a feeling it might be wrong:

period = 1
interval = (-1/2,1/2)

Is this the function you're trying to graph?

$\displaystyle y=\frac{1}{2}tan(\pi x-\pi)$

If so, we have $\displaystyle y=\frac{1}{2}tan(\pi(x-1))$

So the graph will be 1 unit to the right of the standard graph.

The interval will be giving by solving the inequality:

$\displaystyle -\frac{\pi}{2} \leq \pi x+ \pi \leq \frac{\pi}{2}$
