x^2 - 50=0
(7.07)(7.07) - 50 =0

Is this the correct way to write out a quadratic equation like that?

$x^2-50=0$

I assume that you want to solve for x

$x^2=50$

$
x=\pm 7.07
$

Is that what you want to know ?

Are you supposed to use decimal approximations, instead of the exact answers? (Wondering)
