    Help with graphing functions

Ok im in pre-calc and im being homeschooled. So to say the least i dont have much help. I basically need help with the basics of graphing functions. Can someone just give me a link or a quick run down of the basics. I was pretty much lost at the start. Most of my problems just say graph the function or take the function from the graph and i have no clue what im doing. Please help. Thanks

Would you give us an example of the sort of function you're being asked to graph? The techniques you'd be expected to use would be different depending on what level of mathematics you're currently studying.

You have to learn the basic shapes of graphs. Most notably

    f(x) = x
    f(x) = x^2
    f(x) = x^3
    f(x) = e^x
    f(x) = log(x)

If you have any examples post them here
