factor out \textcolor{red}{2x^{\frac{1}{2}}} from each term

    2) (2/3)x^(3/2) + (4/5)x^(5/2)

factor out \textcolor{red}{2x^{\frac{3}{2}}} from each term

    4) 4y^2 -(2/7)y^(7/2)

you figure out the last one ... what factors do the two terms have in common?
