Find the limits of:

1. lim (cosx + tanx)
x-->pi/6

2. lim 1
x->1 (x-1)^2

You should know that for a function $f(x)$ continuous at $x_0$ the limit as $x$ approaches $x_0$ is $f(x_0)$.

This is applicable to this problem with $f(x)=\cos(x)+\tan(x)$

As $(x-1) \to 0$ as $x \to 1$ what do you think happens to $\frac{1}{(x-1)^2}$ as $x \to 1$ ?
