    coordinate geometry problem (midpoint)

    so i have the coordinates (2,3) (-9,-7)

when i had completed the midpoint equation

it came up with (-4, -2) but it doesnt work on the number plane

    whats going on?

are the measurements on my graph a bit off?

    \left( {\frac{{2 - 9}}{2},\frac{{3 - 7}}{2}} \right) = \left( { - 3.5, - 2} \right)
