    lets play a game called find the zeros

    I need serious help with this. first math problem of the year and I'm lost.

    Find all real zeros of the function
    y=x^2-7x-30

    Given ax^2 + bx + c = 0 where  a,b,c \in \Re, the real roots of the equation are:

     x_{1,2} = \frac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2 -4ac}}{2a}

    Alternatively, for the case where a=1, you can try factorizing the expression by finding a pair of numbers A and B such that AB = c and A + B = b; in this case, AB = -30 and A + B = -7
