looking for opinions
Hey all, I'm currently approaching my final semester of undergraduate college for a mathematics degree.
I need to do a final project before I graduate, and I was thinking of doing something related to number theory. I have been looking around in number theory books and consulting professors looking for ideas on what to do.
My question to you guys is... if anyone knows where the "new fields" in number theory are going. If someone has any advice on where to look for potential undergrad ideas. I hear there's a lot of work being done in crytography (sp?) but I'm looking for other opinions as well.
Many problems in number theory, which are easy to understand, are approached with more advanced methods. That is some of modern number theory is about.

Sounds pretty good. I'll have to keep my eyes open though to find something like that. I guess I forgot to mention that this project will take the whole spring semester to accomplish. So I have a good bit of time to do it.
