    Odd and Even

    Are negative integers odd or even?
    0 is even?

    I'm no number theorist, but I would say -1 ; -3 ; -5 ; ... is odd, while -2 ; -4 ; -6 ; ... is even.

    EDIT: Zero is also defined as an even number.

    For negative numbers, it works just like positive numbers.

    0 is even because it is a multiple of 2 : the remainder of 0 in the division by 2 is 0..

    A number is even iff x = 2n for some n\in \mathbb{Z}. Of course  0 = 2(0).
