The number of seconds in 7 days is $\displaystyle 7\times24\times60\times60=604800$

The total cost is then $\displaystyle 16.07\times604800= 9719136$

In scientific notation we have one digit in front of the decimal place and multiply it by 10 to the power of something, so the answer in scientific notation would be

$\displaystyle 9.719136\times 10^6$ or sometimes $\displaystyle 9.719136{\ } E6$. You can round it to as many decimal places as you like. - Apr 17th 2013, 01:23 PMunkleRe: scientific notation question
