Thread: A question on modular notation

This is just an excerpt from the problem:
"if d ≡ 1 (mod λ), then d^3 ≡ 1 (mod λ)^3"

Sorry if this is a beginner question, but what exactly does
(mod λ)^3 mean...

It must surely be a misprint for (mod λ^3).
