
divisors of powers of 2
I need to be able to show that powers of 2 are not divisible by numbers that are not themselves powers of 2. At least I believe this is the case but I'm not sure how to show it or where it has been shown. The best case would be to find reference that shows this (publication of some sort). If I had some idea how to search for this  the right math "lingo"  it would help. Thanks for any help.


OK so this is tied to a very basic (fundamental) theorem in arithmetic. Thanks Plato, I'll see what I can do with this. I'm an EE, not mathematician so doing proofs is not my thing. But it looks like this is not the sort of thing that would be published due to the basic nature of the problem, so doing the proof might be the only way to go?
