Thread: Polynomial Unique Factorization

Show that all polynomials of x (with integral coefficients) have unique factorization.

This is the hint: The analogous Euclid. algorithm works for such polyns., using “degree” as opposed to “norm”. Prove this and then use similar arguments to prove unique factorization.
