Divison Algorithm
I am attending a different school for the summer and the professor teaching Number Theory isn't qualified to teach addition in 2nd grade.

How would you set up -243/25 in the form of a=qd+r. She told us that q has to be positive but when I found it on wikipedia, an example let q be negative.

Well since $0\leq r<|d|$, if $a<0$ and $d>0$ (like your case), then $q<0$.
