Thread: Solving x^2 + ax == c (mod x)

Hi

Could anyone point me in the direction of solving the following congruency for x?

x^2 + ax == c (mod x)

It's a problem I've come accross in my messing around and although I've done 2nd year maths at university (not that that counts too much ) I can't get very far in solving for x...
