Well for this type of problem, we have to anaylse the series properly..

Notice the 1st, 2nd and 3rd terms..

8, 4, 2 ...
They have a common trend as in:

8 / 2 = 4
4 / 2 = 2

Thus to confirm my analogy, try it on the 4th term:

4th term = 2/2 = 1

It's correct. Thus the rule of this sequence: Starting from the first term, the next term is being obtained by dividing the previous term by 2 in order to obtain the next terms.

Thus, the next few terms will be:

7th term: 1/4 divided by 2 = 1/8
8th term: 1/8 divided by 2 = 1/16

and so on...
