Isn't there an infinite number of points If we let $\displaystyle y\in\mathbb{N}$ be variable, fix $\displaystyle a=1,b=2$ then wouldnt $\displaystyle \left\{x=2y,x=4y,\cdots\right\}$ all satisfy this?
