    x^2=1

    How many solutions does $\displaystyle x^2\equiv 1$ a) $\displaystyle \mod 2$, b) $\displaystyle \mod p$ where $\displaystyle p$ is prime and can be written as $\displaystyle 4k+3$ ($\displaystyle k\in\mathbb{Z}$), c) $\displaystyle \mod p$ where $\displaystyle p$ is prime and can be written as $\displaystyle 4k+1$ ($\displaystyle k\in\mathbb{Z}$).
