    New user in distress

Today was my last day of class. Turns out I failed my finals and as I did not complete my online portion of the class, I earned a D in the class. I am a straight A student with a D on her final report card. I went from being top of the class to the lowest one

Well My teacher allowed me until tonight to do some catching up to at least receive a C. I'm taking an online exam now, pretty sure I failed it which will not help me. I'm stressed, anxious and having invasive thoughts again due to this.

But anyways, My nickname is Bertie (given to me by a teacher I had years ago) and right now i'm barely functioning.

You have gone from the top of your class to the lowest one you say. Therefore, you do have ability in maths. So what has gone wrong? I reckon you're suffering from exam nerves: being over-anxious and trying too hard. Can you arrange a few days away from mathematics and do things that are totally different in that time and have fun? If you can, I advise you do that. Your maths. knowledge will not fade in the meantime and your brain will be able to 'unwind', thus removing the tension that is stopping you from being rational and objective in your thought processes. Those two traits are essential for success at mathematics - and, by now, you probably know that anyway, even if only subconsciously.
Whatever you do, good luck. Always remember, maths is there to be enjoyed. When it becomes hard work, stop, even if for a just a bit. If 'maths' is 'in your blood', it will always be so.

It grieves me so to hear thy story Bertie.
I say be of good cheer as everything in our world is temporary. You may be a little bit down today but you can always recover. Take it from an old drunk. Nothing is written in stone. If you're old enough to drink, I'd say have a beer. It's not always a surefire way to uplift your mood but alcohol in my experience always put a different perspective in how you think. Or just relax as Sir Skywave says. Either way, it's not the end of the world. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. So what if you had a minor setback with that little D mark. Think of it as just that: a minor obstacle. Obstacles are only obstacles until you move them out of the way.
