JD Introduction : Urgent help needed with simultaneous equation

Hi all,

I am JD and i have a problem that someone can hopefully help me with.

I am trying to work out a Simultaneous equation step by step. I have the equations and the results but have no clue about the middle bit, how to get to the results.

I would really appreciate some help. This is revision and the tutor is missing out huge chunks of method. Thanks in advance.

One thing to remember...k1 and k2 have to have the same value in both equations.

There are a couple of ways to deal with this. Perhaps the most straightforward is this: Solve the top equation for one variable, say k2. The plug that expression into the second equation.
