Introduction and clarification in using the forums

Hello everyone,

You can call me Fleep, and I joined this website not only to seek help, but to help me immersify myself with math. I want to understand the power of math, and hopefully as I progress it may be a bridge in learning to understand the sciences in a mathematical way! By joining this forum, I feel this will motivate me to persevere and reach my goal. I look forward to learning from you!

As for forum use, I am currently working through an an Algebra book I bought in a used bookstore, Unfortunately the copy of the solution manual I saw in the store only works out the odd problems already solved in the back of the textbook. I am working all of the problems in each section and hope to post my work on the even problems in the appropriate forum. I am not seeking anyone to show how or why the answer is incorrect, just to make a check mark or give me a list of ones I have incorrect. I will rework the ones I have incorrect and if I still can't solve it then I will seek further help.

My questions: Is it appropriate in the algebra forum to post a list of **all** the even problems I have worked out? Or would I have to find someone willing to check my work on the forums and then send my work through private message at that person to check my work, and only if then I cant solve the problems found incorrect, then I can post my work relating to the ones found incorrect in the Algebra Forum? Are both options allowed, or is one of the options allowed? Maybe Neither? I would have someone locally support me in checking my answers where I live, but don't know anyone so that's another reason why I am here. Thanks everyone!

Yes you can post your problems here, just keep it to no more than two or three problems per thread. As to how many threads, try to post a few examples and apply the solutions you find here and use that to check the other problems. As always please post what work you've been able to do when you post a problem.

Also, make sure to use the Algebra in the Pre-University section.
