    Starting on a long road

Hi everyone, new to this kind of thing, I am not into facebook etc so not sure what to say.

I left school at 15 and went working on building sites and so, I am now 46
In the last few years I have begun to read and started reading physics stuff from the likes of Brian Green, Brian Cox and others.
To my surprise I get it and understand almost all of the concepts, however without maths I can not get into it ad deeply as I would like.
I am in my second module of studying towards a maths degree with the Open University.
Later I would like to try Cosmology and/or Quantum mechanics.

I am enjoying the course and find it kind of fun wrestling with some of the maths problems presented.

Same here. What modules are you studying?

Later I would like to try Cosmology and/or Quantum mechanics.
I'm currently doing the Quantum Mechanics module with The OU. It's quite good.

Hi there I am doing MST121, I only do one a year due to time constraints.
I would say that I am quite a ways of Quantum mechanics yet, what module are you on and is the Quantum mechanics especially tough

Re: Starting on a long road

I'm doing a lot right now. I can't remember the module codes, but i'm doing logic, quantum mechanics, complex analysis and a level 2 module about ellipses (the precursor to MS221).

The quantum mechanics isn't particularly tough. There's a lot to remember though!

It's nice to see someone else in my position on here. Hopefully, we can all help each other. Us OU people have to stick together!
