Thread: help me determine quartiles of random variables

F(x)=0 for x<0
=1/3 for 0<=x<=1/2
=1/2 for 1/2<=x<=3/4
=1 for x>=3/4
Determine,for the random variableX,the
(a) upper quartile
(b) lower quartile
(c) propability mass function of X

Okay, what have you done on this, yourself. Do you know what "upper quartile" and "lower quartile" mean? Do you know how the probability mass function is?
