Sn = 2 + 4 + 6 + 8 + ... = 182

2(1 + 2 + 3 + ... n) = 182

2n(n + 1)/2 = 182

n(n + 1) = 182

182 = 2 × 7 × 13 = 13 × 14

n = 13

in 13 months Corey to pay back the $182

GNUF3, do you understand that you could have done this with a few minutes of integer arithmetic?

2+ 4= 6

6+ 6= 12

12+ 8= 20

20+ 10= 30

30+ 12= 42

42+ 14= 56

56+ 16= 72

72+ 18= 90

90+ 20= 110

110+ 22= 132

132+ 24= 168

That's now 182- 168= $14

So there are those 11 payments and a twelfth payment of $14. - January 25th 2013, 11:15 AMearthboyRe: 6th grade math help
