how would the most logical way to go about this question? A bag of sweets is shared between 3 persons Anna, Tony, Ella. If Anna receives one third of the sweets and Tony receives one quarter of the sweets, what fraction is left for Ella?

The remaining part is what's left when you subtract 1/3 and 1/4 from 1. So 1 - 1/3 - 1/4 = 12/12 - 4/12 - 3/12 = 5/12.
