Hi, I'm William24, a Form 2 student from Hong Kong...factorization problem here:
(Crying)
I have a problem here - can anybody help?
Factorize X2 - Y2 + 2X + 1
I think it can be: (x+Y)(x-y) +2X + 1 - but I' m not sure whether I'm correct, or can it be further factorized?
Help -- and thanks in advance!
Re: Hi, I'm William24, a Form 2 student from Hong Kong...factorization problem here:
(X^2 + 2X +1) - Y^2 ..........Seperate the terms ,you can see the whole square.
(X+1)^2 - Y^2 ..........Now you can apply the factorisation that you already know.
(X+1+Y)(X+1-Y) ..........Easy isn't it......
