Hi everyone, it's been a very long time since i have done any maths. Could someone please show me how to work out this problem.

If an event occurs 6 times in 18 months, what is the average weekly occurance?

18 months = 1.5 years= 78 weeks So 6 times in 78 weeks = 6/78 times in 1 week That is 1/13 times per week

thanks but I want to learn how to work it out

Biff I'm good upto 6/78 then not sure how to get to 1/13

13 x 6 = 78, so you can cancel the factors of 6 in the numerator and the denominator.
