Wait... was "MarkFL1" taken??
The nerve of some people
And how did I not know about your brass?!? We'll have to jam sometime!
Hello all, my name is Mark, and I joined earlier today, thought I would give myself an early Christmas present!
I am 48 years old, and have always had an interest in mathematics and physics. I am not particularly educated nor talented, but I do enjoy helping people increase their own understanding of elementary maths.
I help moderate another math forum, and my primary interests outside of math are playing my E♭ alto and B♭/F tenor trombones and laying rubber in my 2007 Corvette Z06 and 2002 35th Anniversary edition Camaro SS, modified with, among other things, a head/cam/long tube package producing 485 hp.
I see many familiar names here too, but don't believe everything they may tell you about me!
I look forward to participating here!
Not sure that I'm the best reference; I tend to act like an a** most of the time.
But I do apply myself from time to time.
Drums (no double bass)
Acoustic/electric guitar. Two hand tapping, but no sweep picking.
you are too harsh on yourself!
I've also been known to "tickle the ivories." My ability to sight read could be improved!
I sang bass in various choirs years ago...I have a bass voice and can hit low C...or at least I used to, haven't really tried for a while.
So you play the slush-pump!
Here are some jokes for you . . .
What the definition of an optimist?
A trombone player with a pager.
What the difference between a large pizza and a trombone player?
A large pizza can feed a family of four.
What do you call a beautiful woman on the arm of a trombone player?
My one moment of glory:
During my senior year in high school, I played "Nola" on my trombone.
I also played clarinet and euphonium.
I still play baritone ukulele and a little piano.
