Which countries(languages) are more transparent for learning math sci & engineering?

I have a perception that the science learning materials in English world is censored. Many books written in English are difficult to learn from.
Even there are numerous science & maths textbooks and internet materials, few of them are workable. Book comments in amazon are often talking about this.
How about the situation in other countries(languages)? I haven't learnt one of other languages.

Seems an over generalisation to me (also text books are not generally intended for study without teacher support, though that does not stop many from being usable in that manner).
