    How bad is it...

How bad is it to drop out of a class due to a complete lack of interest, given that you have bought the book and won't be getting a refund on the course, and that it is not required for your degree? It's a class on linear programing. I'm sure that some people find this stuff fascinating, but the way the class is taught makes it unbearably boring.

Be very sure that you get an official withdrawal.
You do not want to receive a grade.

I haven't withdrawn yet, but if I do the W won't appear on my transcript until oct 12. Did you ever drop a math class due to lack of interest?

    Re: How bad is it...

I plan to drop a OOP design & analysis course and I feel bad already. I can't understand the instructor, even when I go to her office. I tried reading the book but it doesn't match what we're doing in class. I've tried using google but then I do it differently ("too advance" she says). I don't need the course and I'd get a bad mark anyways.

This is what helped me: "if you take it you'll probably bring your grades down or fail the class so you are better of dropping it". Spend a weekend giving it 100% and if you still don't see yourself doing it, drop it.
