    Topology Video Lectures

Hello, I am currently creating an ongoing series of Topology video lectures and looking for students of an appropriate level for some accurate feedback. They are much in the style of the popular Khan Academy. If you feel this is in the wrong section or inappropriate for the forum, please edit as necessary.

What exactly is your aim with these videos? Who is your intended audience?

As someone trying to teach himself topology I would welcome such a thing but unfortunately you start off with metric spaces and the book that I'm using Topology Without Tears by Sidney A. Morris starts with topologies and doesn't get to metric spaces until the 6th chapter. I'm too into this book right now to drop it and move to another book that starts off with metric spaces (I have one: Introduction to Topology by Gamelin and Greene.) I've read some of the other book and I like your first video but I think I'm going to wait until I progress to metric spaces in TWT before I go any further with them.

I would still encourage you to keep making them and I hope in the future to be able to use them.

I happen to know a guy, who watched your videos about a month ago.

He seemed pleased with the videos, and I believe he watched all of them. He knew nothing about topology beforehand.

If you're interested in more detailed feedback, I'll ask him. In fact, maybe I can get him to contact you directly, to cut the middle man.

Edit: Oops, this is an old thread. I only just noticed.
