In a distribution of 8500 parameters, if 26.7 is 56 percentile and 37.1 is 78 percentile, then what is the percentile of x (26.7 x 37), that is closest in this range?
A. 1888
B. 4750
C. 6650

1) 26.7 exceeds 56% of the values (4760).
2) 37.1 exceeds 78% of the values (6630).
3) How many values lie between 26.7 and 37.1?

Where is the confusion? Is it only because 37.0 is used in the inequality?

no i m getting 1870 as answer because i subtracted 4760 and 6630 is it correct or any thing else is required

The word "closest" causes me to wonder if we care that it's not quite the same.

As you can see, the other two values also are sort of in the neighborhood, but not exact.

Is there a diagram? That might explan it - or not.

I think close enough is close enough on this one.
