    Virtual image/light

I have a question about physics but I can't log into the physicshelpforum, so I'll make my thread here.

A student argues that you cannot photograph a virtual image because light rays do not pass through the space where the image is formed. How would you argue against this statement?

How do you photograph a real image? - you use a converging lense to form a real image in the plane of the film or detector.

With a powerfull enough converging lens eactly the same process will produce a real image of a virtual image.

A virtual image doesn't exist in the world of real things, that means you can't "walk around it". But you can see it. The virtual image is transformed into a real image by your eye's lens on your retina. Now replace your eye by a camera....
