publicly available datasets for UK public opinion on the death penalty

Hi,
I want to plot a chart comparing public opinion on the death penalty with some economic indicators to look for correlations. The financial datasets are easy to find, but I am having trouble getting a time series of opinion.
Can anyone suggest anything?

I would suggest any data set with an opinion varibale would be protected under the privacy act of that state. It would be fine for you to use such a set but it would be unlikely that you find one that is raw.

I want the dataset to generate something like this;
http://www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/files/gallup.gif
but for the UK. I don't see any personally identifiable information that can be used to trigger privacy concerns.

I understand, from here you are looking to expand the number of charts for each wage interval you choose?

Then even correalate this variables in a scatterplot.

I would suggest you would need a data set that has all this information (opinion and economic indicators) in one. I don't know where you would find such a set but once you had it the charts would be very easy to put together.

There seems to be a significant event in 1967 that made opinion go against the death penalty in your chart.

Apparently in 1967 the USA has a voluntary moratorium on the death penalty;
Recent Legal History of the Death Penalty in America

It could be that whatever prompted that decision, was also responsible for the change in public attitudes. (maybe they executed a bunch of innocent people about then..??)
