Hey there, been part of this forum for a few days now, and helped a couple of people, and now I have my first question.
I'm working on a math essay and I'm having trouble with the floor function; floor of a number is the closest integer that is either smaller or equal to the original number (floor of 2,4 is 2).
On to the question: I've always learned floor should be represented by brackets missing the top [x] (minus the top horizontal stripes). I am, however, unable to find these two symbols anywhere on the internet, and I need to copy/paste them into my essay. Another confusing thing was that I often also saw normal brackets being used to represent a floor function, is that allowed?
Thanks for taking the trouble to help - and excuse my spelling (I'm dutch)
