Mr. and Mrs. Simpleton are shopping for carpet for their living room and dining room. Their living room is 21 ft by 15 ft adn their dining room is 12 ft by 9 ft. They have looked at two different priced carpets. One for \$14.95 a square yard installed and another for \$19.99 square yard installed. How much would they save by choosing the cheaper carpet?(Crying)

Area of carpet required = 21 * 15 + 12 * 9 = 315 + 96 = 411

Money saved by choosing cheaper carpet = (19.99 - 14.95) * 411 = 2071.44

problem was that 21*15 + 12*9 is NOT 411 but 423. :)

Correct answer would've been: (19.99 - 14.95) * 423 = 2131,92
