First of all , irrational numbers are numbers which cannot be expressed in the form \frac{m}{n} , where m and n are integers . Examples of irrational numbers are \sqrt{2} and
2\sqrt{3}+\sqrt{5} . Thus , irrational numbers such as these are also called surds .

Does that answer your question ?
