    'write to 2 decimals' estimate?

Pretty basic question but I've a gcse exam in 2 days and I'm unsure as to which answer this question requires.
"......write down the answer to 2 decimal places" 1.977371..
does that simply want me to write 1.97 or is it expecting me to round up to 1.98?

I would give 1.977371. Then I would round.

Personally I would argue that the wording should be "......write down the answer correct to 2 decimal places"

Yeah I know it's the wording that's the problem the questions a no brainer but its what you interpret the question to be.

What does your teacher think? What do the official solutions say?
